Bio/Contact
In 1985 I got my first camera, a Kodak Disc Camera. I was 12 years old and taking a vacation to Las Vegas with my family. I shot 8 discs and they were not pictures that would win any contest. I did not understand the concept of photography, what made a picture good, how to frame, or a theme. I snapped quickly and moved on to the next site, one after another. But something happened when I looked through the view finder, something clicked besides the shutter. I loved the feeling that I could capture a moment in time, take it with me, and share it with my friends. That was my first experience behind the camera; little did I know what I had started. Since that trip I have spent more time and money on technology, trying to perfect the art. In 1987 I took my first class in photography in High School. My parents bought me a Pentax K1000 SLR film camera for the class. I began shooting black and white and along with the aid of my teacher, releasing my creative side. I began developing my own film and photographs. I learned how to manipulate the photos to express a theme and to get my vision across to other people. After high school, photography became a hobby. I took several classes in college and even had my own dark room at home. I traded in my K1000 for a newer Canon film camera and began to shoot 2-3 rolls a week. I explored different styles of photography and learned what makes a good picture and what makes a great picture. In 2002 I stepped my hobby to the next level and in 2005 I graduated from New York Institute of Photography. I have expanded my horizons and have come a long way in 20 years. My childhood hobby has now become my passion. My adventures and travels have taken me all over the world and my camera is always by my side. I have gone coast to coast for weddings, to the canyons of Utah, the jungles of Costa Rica, and even to Africa with the mindset of capturing special moments that will last a life time.
